Donations

The UNT Food Pantry presented by Kroger is stocked entirely through donations from campus and community supporters. Every donation helps provide free groceries and food assistance to University of North Texas students experiencing food insecurity.

As we transition to our new location at 621 South Welch Street, our ability to accept direct food and supply donations will be limited. Please read more here. If you would like to support students during this time, consider the following alternatives:

Donate Clothing On Campus

Clothing donations can be made through our campus partner, the Zero Waste Textile Initiative. Donation bins are located across the UNT campus and provide a convenient way to keep usable clothing in circulation while supporting sustainability efforts. Look for the pink donation bins.

Donate Food through the Dean of Students Office

The Dean of Students Office in Union 409 can accept food donations on behalf of the UNT Food Pantry during the relocation period. There are also a few bins at other offices across campus. Campus departments and student organizations interested in coordinating a larger donation may also schedule a pickup from their office. To learn more, contact DESResources@unt.edu.

Support Local Food Pantries

Community members looking to make an immediate impact on food insecurity are encouraged to donate to other Denton-area food pantries and hunger relief organizations while the UNT Food Pantry completes its move. Local food assistance programs help ensure that students, families, and community members continue to have access to nutritious food when they need it most.

How You Can Donate

Your support helps create a stronger and more food-secure community. Contributions to the UNT Food Pantry and our local partners make it possible for students to focus on their education while meeting their basic needs. Our pantry is stocked solely through donations, and we appreciate your williningness and interest in supporting UNT students.

Monetary Donations

You can give online through UNT Advancement here by writing in 'UNT Food Pantry' with the 'other' option on the drop down. Monetary donations help us purchase a variety of foods that have not been donated as well as help us purchase items for events or special circumstances. Faculty and staff can give via payroll deduction during the annual “We Care, We count” campaign. You can also send a check directly to the UNT Food Pantry Presented by Kroger at Dean of Students, 1155 Union Circle #305358, Denton, Texas 76203.

Physical Donations

Items can be dropped off at the Diamond Eagle Student Resource Center, behind the back of Crumley Hall, Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. The entrance is at the back of Crumley Hall under the large green awning, there will be a railing & ramp up to the door, and it will say “Diamond Eagles Student Resource Center” on the outside. Items can also be dropped off at the Union, suite 409, in The Dean of Students M-F, 8am - 5pm. We can arrange to have a staff member pick up the items from you on the UNT campus. Please email DESresources@unt.edu to request a pick up. If you have a large donation of goods, please call or email ahead of time (DESresources@unt.edu, 940-565-4587).

We also accept lightly used plastic, paper, and canvas shopping bags that we can allow students to take their groceries home, as well as styrofoam and cardboard egg cartons to give out the eggs which are ordered in bulk.
